A special jersey for collector Henk Theuns.
On Thursday, October 28 gets Henk Theuns, the man behind the enormous collection of cycling jerseys as the basis for the book jersey, again presents a jersey. The principal is Bill Humphreys, he came all for it from America. Bill was in the seventies the founder of the success of the American cyclists in Europe. He came with a team this way to find out why the American cyclists in Europe fell ill and not finished. He learned a lot and translated it into his pupils, and brought us including Greg Lemond, Greg Demgen, Ron Keifel, Chris Carmichael and Jeff Bradley. In those days he met Rini Wagtmans and since then the two are good friends. By Rini, Bill learned some things about the book 'Koerstrui'. Bill picked it up and made a big American project, in March 2011 he will release, the U.S. copy of 'Koerstrui': 'The Jersey Project’.
The jersey on the picture is from the oldest cycling club in America, The Raleigh CRCofA, several big names are derived from: John Howard, John Allis, Doug Dale and Bill Humphreys of course. The book is complemented with texts by John van Ierland and published by Trichis Publishing.
